CMS updates the NCCI Policy Manual for Medicare Services once a year. This is a general reference tool that the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) use to explain the rationale for NCCI edits. The most current policy manual is effective January 1, 2024. Note additions and revisions are noted in red font. CPT and HCPCS code edits are updated on a quarterly basis but the narrative instructions are only updated once per year.
